Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope everyone is having a lovely day with the person they love most. Whether that be your boyfriend, girlfriend, group of friends, your dog, anyone.
I wish I could spend today with my boyfriend, but alas there are a few continents between us. I love you, and I miss you.
As some of you may already know, I write monthly articles for an online international student magazine called Rakbo. Today I posted an article on their website about how I deal with a longdistance relationship, especially now that it’s Valentine’s Day. Please go check it out and share with your family and friends. This article was very personal and I put a lot of effort into it.
Last week I joined some friends to go to Kamakura. We had an awesome day but it was absolutely freeeeezing. It even started to snow at some point.
So after seeing a few temples, instead of doing some more sightseeing, we decided to enter this super cute hot chocolate place called Dandelion Chocolate. If you’re in Tokyo/Kamakura and you like to spend Valentine’s Day in a cosy and homey way, definitely check this place out.
They have the cutest coffee shop in Kamakura. Downstairs is their shop where you can order your hot chocolate or coffee. They also sell chocolate bars and mugs. I really recommend to try their chocolate, it’s delicious.
I ordered a regular cappuccino, because, let’s face it, my love for a good cappuccino runs very deep. Also the cappuccino was so cute with the little foam heart on top. This did make the experience even more enjoyable.
My friends got a mocha, the house blend hot chocolate, and a European style hot chocolate. Now… If you decide to go, I’d recommend all this except for the European style hot chocolate. It was literally chocolate fondue. We laughed so hard when they got their order. It was very unexpected and hilarious. We also ate chocolate chip cookies and brownies which were absolute heaven. We ended up staying there way longer than any of us expected. We kept on talking and soon the coffee shop was empty and we had the place to ourselves. It was just so cosy. We couldn’t just leave.
Even though I went there with friends, I actually found the place rather romantic. What better way to spend Valentine, than trying out all kinds of delicious chocolate and drinking amazing cappuccino’s. Even if it’s only for a date, or a spot to hang out with friends, be sure to stop by.
Have a lovely day!
