Hi guys!
Just wanted to write a little message before the New Year starts.
I must say that the year 2017 was one of the most exciting years I’ve ever had. It was filled with a lot of happiness, but also a bit of sadness, but mostly happiness.
This year was filled with what I love to do most: TRAVEL. I started the year 2017 off in Japan, while my boyfriend was there visiting me. It was so nice seeing him again after so long, and the fact that we got to travel together made it even better!
In March I was able to travel to two amazing places!
First, I went to Okinawa. I think this is one of my favourite trips ever. I met up with my friends from my uni in Belgium who were also studying in different parts of Japan. We chilled, ate amazing food and got sunburnt AF. I love these people so much and it felt so good to see them again after being apart for six months.
Then, legit a week after I came back from Japan’s tropics, I was able to go to a whole new country: Korea! I went there with one of my best friends. I absolutely loved Seoul! The city was so alive and the food was so good! I’m a huge foodie, so while travelling I love to indulge. This trip went so smoothly and was completely stress-free. It was the perfect way to start a new semester.
Two weeks after coming back from Korea, my mom, brother and aunt came to visit me. I almost cried when I saw them, as I hadn’t seen them for more than seven months. I showed them around all over Tokyo, and we went to Osaka, Nara and Kyoto together. Of all these places, I loved Nara the most, to be honest. Even though it’s quite a small city, the temples were absolutely gorgeous and the deer were so cute!
During my last month in Japan, Dion came to visit me again, and then we made the most romantic trip of my life! We went to Hakone together (I actually wrote a blogpost about this for Rakbo). This place is so incredibly romantic and pretty. I can’t wait to go back one day!
The saddest part of my year was probably leaving Japan. I met the most amazing people and had the best experiences of my life in that country. It was really hard saying goodbye.
But when I came back in Belgium, I got to see my family and friends again and move in with my amazing boyfriend.
Even though I was back home, the travels didn’t stop. Last month in November, I travelled to London with a dear friend for a conference. But we booked a few more days just for travels. We played the tourist all over London. I bloody love this city!
And now… It’s New Year’s Eve… and I’m in England again! One of my best friends from Japan came to Europe during winter break. I showed him all around Brussels and then him, Dion and I drove all the way to England to meet up with other friends for New Year’s.
I can’t believe how lucky I am to be able to have had all of these amazing experiences.
Reading your blog posts is an absolute delight!
