I’m so fawn’d of you, my deer 🧡 ー But for real doe, (K, I’m done I swear) Exciting things are happening in my work- and personal life. Nothing is certain yet but everything is starting to fall into place. I feel a new sense of inspiration and excitement every morning as soon as I wake up. It’s an excitement I haven’t felt in a very long time. Don’t wanna be a bummer, but starting adult life after uni can be a bummer. It’s not what you expect. Even when living in one of the best cities in the world. Never thought I’d ever have such a “Mood AF” photo ☕️ ー When travelling, we usually get up early to fit as many activities as possible in one day. I used to be one of these people, but not during my holiday in Seoul. We stayed in a beautiful appartment with an awesome view, and we enjoyed every bit of it. Every morning we took our time to wake up nice and easy, have coffee and even squeeze in a workout. I don’t think we ever left the appartment before noon. Who says your accomodation can’t be part of your vacation? There are so many cool accomodations available. Never stop learning 🧡 ー I was planning to post about my Korea trip today, but I changed my mind. It’s my first day back at work after a five day vacation, and for the first time in my life, I got to be an interpreter in a meeting between Japanese- and English/French-speakers. This meeting ended up being about 4 hours long (excluding the 2h prep time), and wow, my brain is fried. For the longest time, I’ve been contemplating whether or not to continue my academic life and go for an interpreter degree. I attended a seminar once a while back, where an interpreter shared about her life and how one session can take weeeeeeks of prep and how exhausting it is during the actual interpretation, and on top of that, they usually work with a partner. I saw this as a challenge and thought it might be something I’d like to give a go one day. But boooooooy, I never imagined my head to feel this way. Translating both ways in English/Japanese/French really took it out of me. I had to pay attention all👏the 👏time👏 and never let my thoughts drift. I am more motivated than ever to keep doing this and get more used to it, because honestly, I liked it (even tho my brain probably looks like mush now). I think I just want to say how much I respect people who do this full-time. Okay, gonna sleep now.
